To add a new site, simply click the button at the bottom of the Sites tab.
To add a new site, you must have an active subscription plan. If you do not have one, the first step will be selecting a subscription plan.
Once you have selected a subscription plan (or if your account already has an available subscription plan), you will be given the option to configure the site in the Site Settings.
Site editor
The button allows you to see and change the properties associated with a site. This section describes the settings and where to find them.
New sites and the Site Settings tab
The Sites Setting tab and the new sites page allow you to configure the properties of your site which are described in this section.
For new sites, simply enter the information requested and select the button.

If any errors occur while saving this information, an error message will be displayed at the top of the page in red. You should then address the issue and attempt to save again.

This is the URL of the site to process.
Subscription plan
This is the list of available subscription plans that can be applied to this plan.
Note Please note that if you change this selection, any information updated since the last time you saved will be lost. It is advised that you change this at the beginning.
If you select Add a new plan, you will be given the choice of purchasing a new subscription. You may click on your browsers back button if you wish to return.
Report notification e-mail address
After a report is generated, an e-mail will be sent to this e-mail address. If you do not specify an e-mail address here, you will not receive an e-mail.
Automatic update option
You may have a report generated regularly by using our Automatic Update Option. Based on your Subscription Plan, you may update your site:
- Never: New reports will be generated only when you request them.
- Every Day
- Weekly: A new report will be generated every 7 days after the last report was generated.
- Every Other Week: A new report will be generated every 14 days after the last report was generated.
- Monthly: A new report will be generated every 30 days after the last report was generated.
In this section, you may also choose a time period to run the scan. It is important to note that this is a suggestion to the system and while we attempt to process the site around this time, we may generate the report at any time.
Note You may manually update a report by Refreshing the Site. The suggested time is not considered when you refresh the site.
Feed URL to check for updates
If your web site has a feed, you may add it into this field. FXWebSuite will monitor the feed, and within an hour of when it changes, your site will be automatically refreshed.
Basic authentication
If your site requires Basic authentication, you may configure it here. At the moment, we only support a single username and password. This user name and password will be used for any page on the same web server as the server named in the web site’s URL.
For example, if your web site is http://www.example.com/, any page that requests authentication that is on the host www.example.com will be given these credentials when requested.
Note In the future, we will provide more control of these credentials. If you have an immediate use-case, please contact us.
To use this feature, simply select the Does this site require Basic Authentication and enter in a username and password for this site.
Check existence of offsite links
FXWebSuite can verify the existence of offsite links which can be used to check the customer experience when they follow links to sites that you do not control. To enable this feature, simply select the Check existence of offsite links?.
An offsite link is any site which is not on the same web server as the server named in the web site’s URL. For example, if your web site is http://www.example.com/, any page that is not on the host www.example.com will only be checked for existence if this checkbox is checked. Otherwise, the remote page will not be checked.
All other pages will be processed unless otherwise specified. See the Page Rules.
This option is recommended. When it is enabled, pay particular attention to missing pages and redirects, as these harm your customer’s experience and confidence in your offerings.
Page rules
This allows you to control how your site is processed by allowing you to prevent FXWebSuite from accessing certain pages and treating certain pages as subdomains.
Note This feature is for advanced users and for most users, it is not used. If you have questions on how this may be used, please Contact Us.
To include a page as part of your site, select Included, enter the URL in the Expression text area, and click .
To consider a page as not part of your site, select Excluded, enter the URL in the Expression text area, and click .
The behavior of excluded pages is determined by the Check existence of offsite links setting. If the setting is enabled, the page will be read to ensure that it is accessible; otherwise the setting will be ignored.
The Expression field compares the domain name and treats the path as a prefix (similar to how robots.txt files work) and accepts basic regular expressions to help you with certain use-cases. For more information, please Contact Us.
Once that you have a rule, you may wish to see how it reacts. To do so, you can use our page tests.
Page tests
FXWebSuite has a few options allow you to tweak how sites are interpreted. To see how a page will be treated quickly, you may use our page tests. Given a URL, it will tell you how URL will be treated by FXWebSuite.
The Page is excluded checkbox will be checked if the page has been explicitly turned off. The reasoning will be explained below the checkbox.
The Page will be ignored checkbox will be checked if the page will be treated as an external link. The reasoning will be explained below the checkbox.
Requesting a new report
You may request that a new report gets generated for a site by choosing the button on the Sites tab. This will take a moment and give you a status message when completed.
Deleting a site
To delete a site and all the data associated with it, simply choose the button on the Sites tab. This will ask you to confirm and will proceed to delete that site if you answer yes.
RSS feed for reports
In the upper right hand corner of the Sites tab, there is a link to your RSS feed for your reports. The RSS feed is anonymously readable and is updated whenever a report is updated.
